AYSO UNITED EXPANDS CLUB PROGRAM IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
TORRANCE, CA. (March 2021) — The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is thrilled to announce its nationwide club, AYSO United, will be adding to their presence in Northern California with AYSO United Davis. The new Club joins three other AYSO United Clubs; Bay Area, East Bay and Silicon Valley, in serving the Northern California Area.
“We are excited about growing our presence in Northern California through AYSO United. AYSO is deeply entrenched in the community and AYSO United has become a part of that community over the past five years. The high standards set by local AYSO programs will ensure that our players have the opportunity to continue their AYSO experience within the AYSO United environment,” said James Janoz, AYSO United Director of Affiliate Programs.
AYSO United is building upon the foundation set by the current AYSO Alliance club program, created in 2020, to continue to provide advanced playing opportunities for AYSO players and create a world-class player development pathway. AYSO United is built on the organization’s Six Philosophies, flipping the soccer building blocks by prioritizing player development, which is designed to meet the technical, tactical and psycho-social needs of its players.
“AYSO in Davis has a strong history of coaches and players giving back to the organization, and we see this as fundamental to the partnership and our local soccer community,” shared Sara Hawkes, AYSO Region 218 Regional Commissioner. “The leadership of AYSO United Davis is committed to working collaboratively with organizations in our area for the development of youth players in our area. They will fill a needed gap in our community to deliver a soccer experience grounded in AYSO philosophies and aligned with the development needs of advanced youth players in our community.”
Adam Lewin will be the new Director of Coaching for the Club and is excited about the opportunity, sharing, “AYSO United Davis is uniquely positioned to provide a special experience for players in our soccer loving community. We are excited to offer a new player pathway for members of the Davis AYSO family, one that allows players to develop and enjoy the game under AYSO philosophies while competing in California’s preeminent league, NorCal Premier. Equally as exciting is the infrastructure we are building for our off-field programming. As an organization, we are dedicated to creating an environment that encourages and facilitates players becoming youth leaders in our community. We fundamentally believe soccer should be used as a platform to gain new life skills that will help players explore their full potential as people. We look forward to carrying out our vision of what we believe a community soccer club can be.”
The new club is already giving back to the community with clinics planned this Spring for all level of players. Club tryouts will be held in late May and early June with team practices beginning at the end of June.
